Ringgold, GA (September 25, 2019) – On Tuesday afternoon, September 24, the Georgia State Patrol responded to a serious car crash that caused injuries in many, including multiple children.
The accident took place at the intersection of GA-151 (Alabama Highway) and Yates Springs Road. Two vehicles collided in the intersection described as a red SUV and a light pickup truck. Police are not sure of the exact circumstances but have said that the damages to the vehicles were immense.
One of the drivers was driving with a suspended license and could be facing other charges for allegedly causing the accident.
Eight people were injured in total due to the collision including five children. One of the children was allegedly thrown from the vehicle and had to be airlifted from the scene of the crash. The child hit the pavement and two were left with open head wounds. At least two had not been properly restrained.
The vehicles were towed from the scene and, by 5:30 p.m. last evening, the accident was completely cleared.
At this time, the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
