Lake Lanier, GA (September 6, 2019) – Around 8:30 p.m. on a night this past week, a woman was seriously injured in a boat accident on Lake Lanier in Georgia.
Today, the investigation into the boating accident continued. The accident allegedly took place when a party pontoon ran over a woman’s leg.
The woman, identified as a 32-year-old, was originally a passenger on the boat but then got into the water. When the woman was floating in the water, the operator of the boat suddenly backed over her leg, causing serious injuries.
The woman was immediately taken to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Her condition is not known at this time.
Police investigated and were able to determine that the operator of the boat was boating while under the influence at the time. The 32-year-old was arrested but has since been released.
Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
