Dunwoody, GA (September 02, 2019) – An infant died after being involved in a multi-vehicle crash on I-285. The incident took place on Monday, September 2nd.
Officers from the Dunwoody Police Department stated that two vehicles collided on I-285 westbound near Chamblee Dunwoody Road shortly after 5:00 in the morning Two more crashes happened as a direct result of the first.
One of the secondary crashes included a Gwinnett County ambulance that was transporting an infant. As a result of the accident, the ambulance became disabled The DeKalb County Fire Department stepped in and finished transporting the infant to the hospital.
Police said the infant passed away at the hospital from causes that may or may not be related to the crash.
Three other adults were also transported to local medical facilities after the accidents. Their injuries were listed as non-life-threatening.
