Dalton, GA (September 18, 2019) – On Friday morning, police responded to a fatal accident on US-41 in Dalton. Now, police have identified the party whose life was taken in this crash.
The accident allegedly took place near the 243 Connector at the Pilot Travel Center. Police initially received the call around 11:26 a.m., where they found that a 50-year-old employee, identified as a man from Resaca, had been with another worker and pulling a disabled tractor-trailer into the travel center’s parking lot.
The man suddenly realized that the trailer was about to hit his service truck. He ran to his pickup truck so that he could move it and was suddenly struck by the trailer that was being towed.
Paramedics arrived within five minutes but, according to police, were unable to save the man’s life after he was pinned.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
