Cumberland, GA (September 13, 2019) – On September 11 around 9:15 p.m., police responded to the scene of a fatal pedestrian crash on Powers Ferry Road at Wood Hollow Drive.
At the time, authorities said that a Mazda 6 was driving northbound on Powers Ferry Road and approaching the Wood Hollow intersection. Suddenly, the left front side of the vehicle struck a pedestrian. The driver stopped at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Mazda was quickly identified as a 50-year-old man from Marietta, while the pedestrian was identified as a 69-year-old man from Marietta. He was transported to the hospital but tragically pronounced deceased while there.
Police claim that the roadway was dark at the time. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident is ongoing.
