Atlanta, GA (September 22, 2019) – Last night around 8:40 p.m., a child was struck and injured in a pedestrian accident at 2900 GA-139, also known as Martin Luther King Drive.
The pedestrian was identified as a 14-year-old girl who had been out walking when she was suddenly struck by a vehicle. Atlanta Police confirmed that she had been attempting to cross the street at the time.
Police have stated that the girl was immediately taken to the Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, though her condition is not known at this time. The 14-year-old was not alert and conscious after the accident but paramedics said that she was breathing.
Investigators continue to determine what led to the crash at this time.
