Valdosta, GA (September 18, 2019) – On Tuesday afternoon, September 17, a fatal bicycle accident took place involving a transit van on I-75 in Valdosta.
Lowndes County Police received notification of the accident around 5 p.m., where they quickly responded and found that a young man on a bicycle had been struck by the van.
The driver of the transit van stopped at the scene of the accident and cooperated with police. They claim that they never even saw the man on his bicycle.
The bicyclist has since been identified as a 17-year-old. The Georgia State Patrol is attempting to confirm the circumstances leading up to the accident.
