Valdosta, GA (September 19, 2019) – Around 5 p.m. on Tuesday evening, police confirmed a man was killed in a fatal bicycle accident on GA-401 in Valdosta.
At the time, a bus with Mids, Inc. was traveling south on the highway and attempted to take a right turn. At that same time, authorities claim that the man on his bicycle was headed west. The front of the bus suddenly struck the man, along with his bicycle.
The bicyclist was immediately trapped underneath the bus. Police claim that the bicyclist, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Charges are pending against the driver, who was not injured. None of the passengers received injuries.
The special accident team continues their investigation at this time.
