Sylvester, GA (September 12, 2019) – The Georgia State Patrol responded to the scene of a pedestrian crash on Franklin Street this past week. The two parties who were injured have now been identified.
At the time, a 1-year-old and her mother were crossing the street when they were suddenly struck by a passing vehicle. The mother and child were both taken to a Florida hospital. The mother has since been released.
The child had allegedly been in a stroller when they were struck by the SUV. The mother got up from the middle of the road so that she could get her child off of the roadway. The child remains in critical condition.
GSP continues to investigate the circumstances of the accident at this time.
