Perry, GA (September 4, 2019) – The Georgia State Patrol was called to the scene of a school bus accident that took place yesterday afternoon, September 3, at a Perry intersection.
The crash, according to authorities, took place around 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Christine Circle and Highway 41.
According to GSP, the bus had just stopped so that it could pick up children at a bus stop. That’s when a motor vehicle suddenly ran into the bus.
Police claim that three children were injured in the accident, though their conditions are not known at this time. All three were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The accident occurred when a vehicle turned left but signaled too late, causing the bus driver to slam on their brakes. A vehicle then slammed into the back of the bus, causing a chain-reaction accident involving another vehicle.
Traffic citations were given to the at-fault drivers but the driver of the bus was not at fault. At this time, the investigation into the accident continues.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims in hopes of full recoveries from this accident.
