Moultrie, GA (September 1, 2019) – Police confirmed that three people were sent to medical facilities following a two-vehicle crash that took place on South Main Street in Moultrie.
The accident took place on Thursday and impacted four senior citizens. Moultrie police claim that a 60-year-old was at fault for the accident. At the time, he told police that he was driving a Ford pickup truck southbound on South Main Street headed toward the hospital when he was struck by a Nissan Versa.
There were three parties inside the Versa identified as a 78-year-old man, 76-year-old woman, and 75-year-old woman. The driver had also been traveling southbound at the time.
The driver who was at fault pulled into the lane of the other vehicle, who was not able to avoid it.
Three were taken to hospitals for their injuries, while one was flown to the hospital with the most severe injuries.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
