McRae-Helena, GA (September 14, 2019) – The Georgia State Patrol responded to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident on US-23, also known as 8th Street, in McRae-Helena.
The accident took place around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. The pedestrian was identified as a woman in her 50s who stepped out into traffic so that she could cross the street. Police claim that she was immediately struck by a F-150.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene of the accident and is not being charged at this time.
GSP continues to investigate the circumstances of the accident at this time.
