Evans, GA (September 26, 2019) – Police and the Columbia County Coroner’s Office have confirmed that one person was killed in a fatal accident on Washington Road, Evans
The victim of the accident was identified as a 25-year-old man from Grovetown. His life was taken when the driver of an empty 18-wheeler collided with a Ford F-150 pickup truck head-on.
The 25-year-old had been driving the pickup truck and tragically passed away at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver is expected to recover.
A detour was set up after the accident, as the area was closed down following the collision. The investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
