Athens, GA – Pedestrian Accident Injures Woman at Research Dr Intersection

Athens, GA (September 11, 2019) – Around 11:20 p.m. on Monday night, September 9, a woman was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident at an Athens intersection.

The crash took place at the intersection of Research Drive and College Station Road. At the time, a 26-year-old woman had been trying to cross the street when she was struck by a vehicle.

The vehicle that struck the woman was identified as a 2009 Nissan Altima and the driver remained at the scene to speak with police.

The woman, who had allegedly not been in the crosswalk at the time, was seriously injured and immediately transported to a local hospital. Her condition is not known at this time.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and her family with hopes of a full recovery.

Pedestrian Accidents in Georgia

Pedestrians are some of the most vulnerable parties on our roads, which means that they are prone to some of the most catastrophic injuries. Hundreds of pedestrians will lose their lives every year on Georgia roads and thousands will be injured and hospitalized. Because pedestrians have few protections from harm, they are more likely to receive some of the worst damages in an accident. Because of this, you might be facing the reality of a personal injury claim following your accident.

At Kenneth S. Nugent, PC, our skilled attorneys have helped many injured pedestrians through one of the most challenging and financially devastating times in their lives. We are familiar with the ins and outs of the many laws that play a role in these cases and will stand by your side to ensure that your rights are being protected every step of the way.
