Savannah, GA (August 31, 2019) – Around 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, police responded to the scene of a fatal hit-and-run accident on Airways Avenue in Savannah.
The crash took place when a 45-year-old man from Bloomingdale was driving his Mazda headed east on Airways Avenue approaching Ida J. Gadsen Drive while a 20-year-old woman was driving a Sebring headed north.
The two vehicles suddenly collided forcefully, causing severe damages to both.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by paramedics. The investigation into the accident continues at this time.
