Austell, GA (August 30, 2019) – Police have confirmed that a 67-year-old man was killed in a fatal crash that took place on Powder Springs Road in Austell, Cobb County.
According to Cobb County Police, the crash took place around 11 a.m. Investigators have confirmed that the crash occurred when a Honda Odyssey entered half of the turning lane, causing it to strike a box truck that was waiting to turn.
The driver of the Honda was quickly identified as a man from Marietta, who was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. The driver of the box truck was taken to Wellstar-Kennestone Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The driver is not expected to face charges.
At this time, the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
